Tips for Writing a Successful Ad
A
Position Wanted ad is the place for you to shine. Now is the
time to sell yourself. So, polish up your resume, contact
your references and start thinking hard about all of your
professional accomplishments.
Here are a few things you will want to include in your ad:
- Your Name and contact information (unless going confidential)
- Geographic preferences
- Willingness to travel
- Availability timeframe
- Education, licensure, specialized training/certifications, industry affiliations and involvement
- Your major accomplishments (it's okay to brag here a bit) Were you responsible for selling your emergency response system (or any other product/service) to 10 of the 15 largest senior living providers? Then that is worth a mention. Did you will Sales Manager of the Year out of 32 facilities? Did you turn around a Nursing Home? Help save a company from bankruptcy? Tell me why I should hire you.
- Have you managed people? How many? What was your budget responsibility? (show me the numbers)
- Get specific when possible (i.e. "Regional Director for 16 communities in four states" or "opened 362 unit non-profit CCRC" or "increased census from 58% to 100% with waiting list in a record 9 months
